Oxford, Stratford

We journey through the Thames Valley to Oxford, City of Dreaming Spires, whose origins go back 1000 years and whose streets are framed by the stone walls of the colleges. Our tour takes us through some of the university buildings where your guide tell you of famous past students and age old traditions of colleges life that endure to this day. Stratford-upon-Avon, although famous as Shakespeare's birthplace it is a charming market town in its own right. Mellowed buildings, many half timbered, line broad streets and you visit Shakespeare's birthplace. You also visit Anne Hathaway's Cottage, a pretty thatched building where the author's wife was born. This house is very much as she would have known it.
